To undertake the design, development, testing, and deployment of software products and services, specifically focusing on BSS systems, in accordance with the needs of the business.


Key responsibilities encompass analysing business requirements, designing technical narratives, developing software solutions, documenting the development process, and conducting thorough testing to ensure alignment with user specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

To define, implement, integrate, and document technical solutions for BSS Systems which are Oracle Fusion Middleware and Database technologies. Compile User Requirements Specification documents (URS) for new products/services, including system enhancements. Ensuring that projects are delivered according to business requirements as well as specified technical designs, and that business teams align around the same objectives and deliverables. To develop software according to requirements. Provide high level support to customer queries, liaising with different stakeholders, Suppliers/Vendors, and other divisions within Vodacom. To research/investigate current industry trends and implement solutions using the latest design standards and principles. Co-ordination of BSS initiatives and facilitation of technical workshops. Ensuring that all systems within the BSS department conform to cyber security guidelines and that all security risks are mitigated. Provide support prior to products/services implementation, during products/services implementation and post products/services implementation. To support and maintain services and production systems.

Programming & Scripting (Python, Go, Java, or Node.js) Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code. Relational databases, SQL (Oracle database) Web services (REST, SOAP and JSON) LDAP Linux commands Software and System Design Principles Oracle Fusion Middleware DevOps Micro-services architectures Databases and e-Directory Problem solving and analytical skills. Investigating, trouble shooting and testing. Proficient in using Docker and managing workloads on Kubernetes Cloud platforms (Openshift, AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services (compute, storage, networking) Project Management orientated. Knowledge of deploying and managing apps in cloud-native environments Long working hours may be required

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

3-year Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study. 3-5 years of work experience in the Telecoms industry specific to Business Support and Operations Support environment. 3-5 years advanced experience on Java based applications and UNIX related systems, working knowledge of Oracle Fusion will be an added advantage. 3-5 years experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD. 3 years Relational Database and/or LDAP experience. Web Services knowledge (XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, etc) SDLC process knowledge in product and service delivery chain Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk, App dynamics)
