We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven
Spa Manager
to lead our luxury spa team at a prestigious 5-star hotel on the Garden Route. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in spa management within a 5-star environment, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong focus on revenue generation. Familiarity with the Garden Route region and its clientele is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Staff Development
Recruit, train, motivate, and manage spa staff to deliver world-class guest service.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.
Conduct regular performance reviews and drive staff development initiatives.
Commercial & Revenue Management
Develop and execute strategies to maximize spa revenue and profitability.
Implement effective upselling, cross-selling, and yield management techniques.
Analyse financial reports, monitor KPIs, and identify growth opportunities.
Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
Guest Experience
Ensure the highest standards of guest satisfaction in line with 5-star expectations.
Oversee the delivery of all spa treatments and services according to brand and hotel standards.
Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
Operations & Compliance
Oversee daily spa operations, including scheduling, inventory, and facility maintenance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts as required.
Marketing & Business Development
Collaborate with the hotel's marketing team to promote spa services, packages, and special events.
Build partnerships with local businesses and tourism operators on the Garden Route.
Organize and host events to increase spa visibility and revenue
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in Spa Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field. Beauty Diploma preferably CIDESCO, SAAHSP and/or ITEC
Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Spa Manager in a 5-star hotel or luxury spa environment.
Demonstrated commercial acumen with a proven record of achieving revenue targets.
Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of the Garden Route market and its luxury hospitality clientele.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in spa management software and MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of industry trends, luxury spa products, and best practices.
Relevant certifications in wellness, massage therapy, or aesthetics (advantageous).
