Role Summary:





We have an exciting opportunity for an

Operations Executive

to join our team in Cape Town. The role of this job is to perform and direct all operational functions, in relation to a vessel's port call as directed by the principal and in accordance with government legislations, port rules and ISS procedures and policies to ensure an efficient vessel port call.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:





Perform vessel's operations as directed by the operations Manager and in accordance with ISS policies and procedures so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled in delivering a quality service that fully meets the principal's needs. Processing inward and outward clearances of all vessels at the ports covered by the port office by ensuring compliance of the required documents with laws and regulations as set down by government authorities such as Immigration and Port Authorities. Performing all arrangements in close co-ordination with main office for crew changes, medical cases and crew shore passes as per vessel / principal's requirements in order to accomplish speedy turnaround of vessels. Prepare a daily prospects / operational report for each vessel assigned and submit the report to all stakeholders including but not limited to the ship's master, the principal's operational staff and all other interested and affected parties associated with the port call. Providing the port and head office management with updated information on local rules and regulations, changes in port charges as and when notifications are received to enable the company to update operational and documentation procedures and inform the principals so that full transparency of port operation requirements and costs are communicated. Attending port meetings collate port vessel movement reports and status updates, in the absence of the Port Manager or Port Operations manager, in order for the main office to prepare vessel movement report as required. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the operations assistants and ensure performance standards are maintained throughout. This includes port operations and systems (POPDA, PASP etc) operations. Attending to HSSE matters and ensuring that the office is compliant with the group policy. Attending to ISO matters. Ensuring that the office complies with group standards and be ready to represent the office in all internal and external audits.



Who You Are:





5 years of experience in Port Agency In-depth understanding of Shipping College Diploma Knowledge of Business Management Valid South African drivers license and access to you own vehicle
