Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a fast-paced establishment known for its exceptional quality and service. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in high-volume, upmarket dining environments and be confident in managing kitchen operations, maintaining exceptional food standards, and leading a team with professionalism and precision.



Key Responsibilities:



Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen in support of the Head Chef.
Maintain consistently high food quality and presentation in line with the brand's standards.
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure efficiency, discipline, and motivation.
Oversee preparation and execution of service during busy periods with attention to timing and coordination.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
Implement and monitor health, hygiene, and safety standards in accordance with HACCP and company policies.
Manage stock levels, ordering, and stock rotation to minimise waste and control costs.
Ensure accurate portion control and consistent execution of dishes across all service times.
Lead by example with a hands-on approach and a strong presence during service.
Communicate effectively with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.

Requirements:



Minimum of 5 years' experience in a high-volume, upmarket dining environment.
Formal culinary qualification preferred.
Proven experience in a Sous Chef role in a high-end restaurant environment.
Exceptional knowledge of food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and safety standards.
Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
Passion for excellence, creativity, and innovation in food.
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
