Job Summary Mud and Muse, an exciting new restaurant opening soon in Kempton Park, is looking for a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership team. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistent quality. Support menu development, incorporating creative ideas and seasonal ingredients. Maintain stock control, inventory management, and cost-efficiency practices to minimize waste. Uphold strict food safety and hygiene standards. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring smooth operations during busy services. Monitor portion control and plating standards to meet restaurant expectations. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting. Solid understanding of stock control, food safety, and kitchen organization. Culinary qualification (e.g., certificate or diploma) is preferred. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
