Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated

Sous Chef

to join our kitchen team on a

permanent basis

. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen operations while inspiring and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and leading the team. Take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence. Support menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal produce and customer preferences. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times. Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering. Uphold high standards of food presentation and consistency. Mentor and train junior chefs to foster a positive, productive working environment. Collaborate with management to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-paced kitchen. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team. Solid knowledge of kitchen operations, food hygiene, and safety standards. Understanding of food costing and budget awareness. Creativity and passion for food and presentation. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Flexibility, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude.

Desirable:

Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Previous experience in a boutique hotel or similar setting. Experience with menu costing and budget control.
