The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for identifying and securing suppliers for raw materials and services, ensuring the best value for the company while maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
Key Performance Areas:
Supplier Identification and Selection
Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database to support informed sourcing decisions.
Negotiation and Contract Management
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favourable outcomes.
Prepare and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Cost Management and Analysis
Analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor market trends to ensure competitive sourcing.
Implement cost-effective sourcing strategies that align with budgetary constraints.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the Procurement Manager and cross-functional teams to understand and fulfil sourcing needs.
Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve issues, maintain strong relationships, and ensure timely deliveries.
Performance Monitoring
Track supplier performance metrics and report findings to the Procurement Manager.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing efficiency and supplier performance.
Supplier Research and Evaluation
Conduct detailed evaluations of potential suppliers regarding their capabilities, quality standards, and compliance with industry regulations.
Ensure suppliers meet the company's requirements for quality, reliability, and sustainability
Sourcing Strategy Development
Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with overall company objectives, optimizing cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
Stay proactive in identifying innovative sourcing solutions to improve overall procurement processes.
Supplier Relationship Management
Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and addressing any issues as they arise.
Foster collaboration to ensure mutual growth and success.
Market Intelligence
Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new materials relevant to the industry.
Provide insights to the procurement team to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
Risk Management
Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
Implement contingency plans to address supply disruptions.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Procurement or related field
Professional certifications (e.g.,CPSM,CPP, or similar) a plus
5+ years of hands-on experience related to strategic sourcing, category management and contract management
Previous Specialist experience is highly preferred.
Manufacturing/FMCG experience will be an advantage
Glass experience will be an advantage
