Sommelier – Premium Restaurant – Stellenbosch Western Cape

Job Description

The Sommelier will manage the restaurant's wine offering and deliver outstanding guest service. Responsibilities include guiding guests in wine selections, recommending pairings, maintaining the wine list, managing stock levels, and training front-of-house staff on wine knowledge. You will actively contribute to sales growth through a commission-based incentive structure.



Candidates must have strong wine expertise, excellent communication skills, and a confident, approachable personality. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, guest-focused restaurant environment, ideal for someone who thrives on interaction and creating memorable dining experiences.



Only stable, referenceable candidates with a proven track record in hospitality will be considered.



Salary:

Base salary of R13,000 plus commission



Previous experience as a Sommelier or senior beverage professional



Strong wine knowledge and passion for hospitality



Excellent communication and guest engagement skills



Sales-driven with an understanding of commission-based structures



Energetic, professional, and service-focused



No job hopping; fully referenceable
