Solar Design Engineer

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed solar PV system designs, including string sizing, inverter selection, and layout planning
- Perform site assessments using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD
- Conduct energy yield simulations and prepare technical design documentation
- Collaborate with the project, procurement and construction teams to ensure designs meet project and regulatory requirements
- Support the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, and client presentations
- BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 1 - 3 years proven experience in solar PV system design (commercial/industrial or utility-scale)
- Proficient in solar design and simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp)
- Knowledge of SANS, NRS and other relevant local electrical standards
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment
