Summary
The digital backbone of this Financial Services giant is driving transformation through technology platforms, shared services, and resilient cyber and information security. We are seeking a technical Application Manager for a hybrid, permanent role, to lead the engineering and operational excellence of a portfolio of business-critical applications. This is a technical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of a portfolio of business applications. The role blends software engineering oversight, team leadership, and strategic application lifecycle management.
Description

• Own the full lifecycle of a portfolio of applications, including budgeting, performance, and roadmap planning.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team (developers, analysts, testers, DevOps).
• Establish and maintain modern software engineering practices (CI/CD, test automation, code reviews).
• Drive DevSecOps culture and ensure adherence to the companies security and architectural standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and vendors to ensure delivery of business value.
• Manage application risks, technical debt, and compliance with IT governance and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant 3-year post-matric qualification in Information Systems or Engineering.
• 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in software development and support team management.
• Proven experience in enterprise application ownership, ALM and SDLC
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery, DevSecOps, and application architecture.
• Exposure to Microsoft and Open Systems technologies; cloud experience is a plus.
• Strong experience with Governance & regulatory requirements, preferably within the financial services field
