Job Description

The Software Developer is accountable to the Manager Enterprise Systems Implementation with regards to the following:


Project Deliverables Operational Deliverables

The Chief Information Officer shall have final authority on critical HR matters with particular reference to work deployment beyond core functions, employment levels and remuneration, in consultation with the Executive Manager: Corporate Services.



MANDATE

The candidate will also oversee the delivery of tasks/ Applications executed by Consultants/Developers on-site.



DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS




The primary responsibility of this role is to act as Software Developer for most CDC Custom Developed Applications. The candidate will also oversee the delivery of tasks/ Applications executed by Consultants/Developers on-site. The responsibilities for this post are summarised as follows:


Operational Duties




Software and Web Development. Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts. Integrate software components and third - party programs. Custom Application support by fixing of all assigned software faults. Ensure Proper documentation of all required documentation as per the SDLC methodology. Oversee multiple software development projects. Ensure the output of software developed is in line with requirements documented. Business and System Analysis. Custom Application Requirements gathering, analysis and documentation. Timeous resolution of all fault logged related to software developed. Ensure timeous delivery of projects/ software to be developed. Ensure continual support to all Operational custom Application. System audits.

Programming and DB Language experience expected:




Database: Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL 2000, 2005 and 2008+ Software languages: VB.Net, VB Script, ASP.Net, ASP, C#, JavaScript, Net core, blazor, C# and PHP Web Development Languages: HTML, XHTML, XML, DHTML, CSS Microsoft: In-depth Knowledge of MS SharePoint. Mobile Application. API integration experience. Azure experience advantageous. Agile SCRUM experience. Automation experience required. Angular 8/9/10

JOB DIMENSIONS




Understanding and experience in software development projects. Knowledge of Application Architectures. Knowledge and experience in Business and Systems Analysis and design. Knowledge and practical experience in programming languages stipulated above. Knowledge and experience in the SDLC methodology. Knowledge and practical experience in database design. Experience in Microsoft Application. To be able to work in a highly dynamic environment. Knowledge of all database related security requirements. Have strong planning and attribute control. Proper document control ability.

STANDARD COMPLIANCE DUTIES




Furthermore, you are to ensure that:


You are aware of and have access to the CDC's SHEMS; You are aware of your responsibilities and duties as laid out in the CDC's SHEMS; You are aware that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner; You ensure that the company's housekeeping standards are maintained throughout your area of responsibility; You report any unsafe conditions or acts which you cannot rectify yourself to your SHE representative or to the Senior SHE Project Manager as soon as possible; You report all SHE incidents which occur within your area of responsibility promptly and in the correct format; You are totally familiar with your responsibilities in terms of the CDC's emergency plan; You communicate to the Senior SHE Project Manager any required changes to the SHEMS prior to implementing these changes; You timeously complete and correctly record any corrective actions which needs to be taken to rectify a SHE matter; You give full cooperation to, and participate in (as required), the CDC's internal and external SHEMS audits.

You have the authority to:


Immediately stop any person(s) on CDC property from committing an unsafe or destructive act or omission; Take whatever immediate steps you deem necessary to prevent injury or environmental damage when confronted with an unsafe or destructive action.

During your period of employment and subsequent thereof, you shall keep confidential and shall not make use of , directly or indirectly, and shall not disclose CDC's trade secrets or confidential information or those of its subsidiary or associate companies or those of the other persons who have made disclosure to the conditions of confidentiality, other than to person authorized by the CDC or those employed by the CDC who are required to know such secrets or to have for the purpose of their employment with the CDC. You shall not, without written permission of the CDC, be directly or indirectly employed for gain in any business or pursuit other than that of the CDC. You will granted only if the CEO is satisfied that the activity is not in conflict with CDC's interests, and that the employees ability to fulfil his/her duties satisfaction will not be impaired. It is conditional that you and/or no immediate relative or member of y household be employed by an organization in direct competition with CDC, with written approval. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE




A relevant Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent; Knowledge in the Enterprise Architecture domains; Minimum of 6 years' experience in Software Development environment; At least 5 years experience of Solutions Development; Knowledge of analytics; Related certification would be advantageous; Prior experience in a technical leadership position; Capacity to produce efficient software design; In depth knowledge and experience with core Microsoft .Net technologies; Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization; Experience with automated testing; The ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
