Social Media Manager (part Time)

Job Description

ASSIGNMENT LENGTH:

10 - 15 hours per week on a fixed term contract for 18 months.


The Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a cohesive content and engagement strategy across Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and a forthcoming blog under the @PrEPRingInfo handle (to be rebranded). The role will focus on building awareness and driving engagement around the PrEP Ring, an innovative HIV prevention method for women. This position requires a balance of creative content development and data-driven decision-making to strengthen the project's digital presence and reach priority audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Develop and execute a social media content strategy aligned with PrEP Ring education and communications goals Create engaging, informative, and culturally relevant content (posts, reels, stories, TikToks) Manage and schedule content across platforms Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages in a professional manner with accurate information Build community and brand awareness Collaborate with advocacy partners, youth ambassadors, and content creators Collaborate closely with the Product Access & Partnerships, and Communications teams Track performance using insights and analytics tools Create monthly reports with performance data and action points Monitor trends and emerging tools to keep the content and campaigns abreast and relevant Manage social media ad campaigns across platforms Ensure all content (audio, visual, and text) adheres to product licensing agreements and global and national laws regarding copyright/rights to use.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education/Experience

Relevant tertiary education. Solid experience managing social media and a proven experience record of growing online communities. Proven experience managing social media accounts (preferably in health, youth, or development sectors)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skilled in Canva, CapCut, or similar tools to design and edit visuals, reels, and short-form videos Ability to write clear, compelling captions tailored for different platforms and audience Understand how to grow audiences and increase engagement using organic and paid strategies Knowledge of women and youth cultures, languages, and digital trends Ability to interpret data and adapt content strategies accordingly Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Above average written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and use initiative Bonus:Experience in HIV prevention, public health, or gender-focused campaigns
