Job Description

We're looking for a

Graphic Designer

to join our social media team and help shape a strong, cohesive brand presence across our platforms -- primarily Instagram, across both

Burnt Men

and

Burnt Women

.

This role is all about translating brand moments into scroll-stopping social content. From product launches and campaigns to day-to-day comms, you'll design clean, elevated static and motion assets that make sense quickly and feel current, on-brand and culturally relevant.

You'll work closely with the social media team to concept, design and execute content, delivering assets to the social media specialist for scheduling and publishing.

A strong understanding of

how social media works

-- especially Instagram -- is essential. You should know how people consume content, what performs well, and how to design for clarity, impact and engagement.

Key Responsibilities



Launches & Announcements:



Turn key brand moments such as store launches, campaign drops and announcements into

eye-catching graphics and short-form motion content

. Ensure messaging is clear, impactful and optimised for fast social consumption.

Product Launch Support (Men & Women):



Support product launches for

Burnt Men

and

Burnt Women

. Design feed posts, story assets and motion pieces that feel strong, current and aligned with each brand's tone while maintaining overall brand cohesion.

Day-to-Day Social Comms:



Design story graphics for everyday communications such as store information, reminders, updates, notices, general product education and selling.

Fresh Ideas & Feed Fillers:



Bring fresh design ideas to keep the feed feeling new and considered. Create filler content, launch & post-launch assets and quieter-moment posts that still feel intentional and engaging.

Campaign Content:



Design social assets for major campaigns, store launches and key brand moments. Work closely with the social media team on timing, rollout, deadlines and content sequencing.

Team Collaboration & Creative Input:



Act as a collaborative creative partner within the social team. Offer design feedback, ideas and suggestions on social assets to help elevate the final output. Maintain a supportive, team-first approach to creative collaboration.

Brand Consistency:



Help maintain a cohesive visual identity across all social channels while allowing space for creative evolution. Ensure all assets align with brand guidelines, tone and aesthetic.

Requirements



Education & Experience:



Degree or qualification in

Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field

, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in creative industries such as fashion, media, or advertising is often preferred.

Technical Skills:



Strong proficiency in

Adobe Creative Suite

(Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects). Understanding of social media formats, dimensions and best practices. Be able to pump out a lot of social media content.

Creative & Visual Skills:



Strong eye for typography, layout, colour and composition. Ability to design content that is both

aesthetically elevated and functionally clear

. Confident creating within an established brand while pushing ideas forward. Good understanding of current social trends, aesthetics and visual culture. Always find a

cool, elevated and on-brand way

to present functional information.

Organisational Skills:



Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and requests in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and file organisation.

Interpersonal Skills:



Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams. Comfortable working closely with managers, specialists and wider marketing and creative teams. Open to feedback and collaborative problem-solving.

Flexibility & Adaptability:



Able to respond quickly to changing priorities, last-minute updates or reactive social needs. Comfortable working across both planned campaigns and ad-hoc daily content. Willing to adapt design approaches based on performance, feedback or platform changes.

Good to Have:



Experience working with fashion, lifestyle or retail brands. Understanding of performance-driven social content (what works and why). Interest in social trends, culture and digital storytelling.

The position is full time (08:30 - 17:00) Start Date: March 2026 Offices are based in Woodstock, Cape Town / moving to Milnerton soon.
