Job Description

VACANCY: Senior Bakery Production Supervisor



A fast paced, FSA accredited, successful family run, wholesale bakery serving the needs of the retail, food service and

hospitality industry as well as regional and national distributors in South Africa. We specialise in a small range of artisanal

breads, Pie manufacturing, English Muffins and small range of confectionery. Our vision is to be a recognized supplier of premium bakery products in

Duties and Responsibilities:



Production Planning & Efficiency

Monitor and optimize production flow, efficiency, and volume. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions. Maintain target production and packing rates using SIC systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Equipment & Plant Utilization

Ensure effective use and maintenance of machinery and facilities. Guide staff on proper machine usage. Meet Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards.

Quality Assurance

Collaborate with QC and QA teams to integrate quality standards in production.

Food Safety & Hygiene

Enforce GMP, 5S practices, and hygiene standards. Monitor CCPs and ensure FSA policy compliance.

Cost & Material Control

Promote cost-efficiency and reduce material wastage across the production chain.

Staff Supervision & Development

Foster a positive, engaged workforce. Ensure clarity of production standards and encourage accountability. Recognize achievements and drive performance. Knowledge and experience of handling IR matters and issues.

Administration & Reporting

Complete and ensure accuracy of all production-related documentation for performance tracking and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:



- A degree or Diploma in Production/Operations Management/Food Technology

- 3 - 5 years' experience as Shift Supervisor/Manager within the FMCG industry.

- Experience Microsoft Office

- Experience in ERP systems would be an advance

- Shift work is compulsory

- Applicants who do not necessarily have a Bakery but FMCG / Quality Control background in other production related positions are welcome to apply.

Remuneration Package:

Market Related.
