The position will be responsible for:
Supervise and control assigned department as determined by the Production Manager
Utilize knowledge and skills to supervise subordinates and assign tasks to ensure that assigned department's production process is effective
Ensure that production orders are completed within the prescribed time frame as determined by the Production Manager
Apply knowledge and skills to ensure that all products are within specification as determined by the Production Manager
Report any deviations from specification to Production Manager immediately
Utilize knowledge and skills to be accountable for all functions within assigned department
Ensure that materials used are within specification as determined by the Production Manager
Apply knowledge and skills to ensure that the production process is cost effective by keeping wastage to a minimum in consultation with the Production Manager
Fully understand and practice the company's Food Safety policy and work in conjunction with the Production Manager to ensure that high levels of food safety are upheld in the production process
Fully understand and practice the company's hygiene and housekeeping policy assigned to the respective department
Ensure that subordinates comply with safety procedures when working with machinery and report non-performing / malfunctioning machinery through the correct processes in consultation with the Production Manager
Ensure that all documentation (e.g., yields, waste and shortages) is completed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as required by the Production Manager
Monitor and review performance of all subordinates in consultation with the Production Manager
Ensure housekeeping is practised on a daily basis
Ensure products are manufactured to the allocated machine
Produce as per customer specification as per the quality department
Yields must be maintained according to required schedules
Ensure the correct recipe is followed as per customer requirement
Troubleshoot quality and food safety issues where possible.
Drive continuous improvement on quality, efficiencies and waste reduction.
Report all IR matters to HR department.
Ensure the return of raw materials to the storeroom is done accordingly
Requirements:
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the below requirements:
Grade 12
Computer Literate
5 years' experience in baking/manufacturing
