Employer Description A 5* Private Game Lodge with 4 Luxury Rooms located in the Eastern Cape. Our client is seeking a strong Game Lodge Maintenance Manager with a Maintenance Formal Qualification who will play a crucial role in ensuring that this exclusive game lodge is well-maintained and operates smoothly. Their responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks to provide guests with a comfortable and safe environment while preserving the natural surroundings. Please note this will be on a 3 months fixed term contract initially, with a possibility of being permanent. You will be responsible for:

  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all lodge facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, restaurants, swimming pools, and other amenities. This involves routine inspections, repairs, and improvements.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the lodgexe2x80x99s grounds and gardens to create an appealing and well-kept environment. This includes landscaping, irrigation, and pest control.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of equipment used in the lodge, such as safari vehicles, kitchen appliances, generators, and other machinery. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage the lodgexe2x80x99s infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and pathways, to ensure they are safe for guests and staff. Address any issues related to wear and tear.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that the lodge complies with health and safety regulations. This includes regular safety inspections, fire safety measures, and emergency response planning.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting expenses, prioritizing projects, and controlling costs effectively.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance staff. Delegate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement a proactive maintenance program to prevent breakdowns and costly repairs. This involves regular inspections, servicing, and the replacement of worn-out components.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to procure maintenance materials, tools, and services. Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance.
  • Guest Services Support: Assist with guest requests related to maintenance, including room repairs, special arrangements, and other services to enhance the guest experience.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for natural disasters, power outages, and other unforeseen events
  • Long-Term Planning: Participate in long-term planning for lodge upgrades, renovations, and expansions, ensuring that maintenance considerations are integrated into the planning process.
  • Compliance with Lodge Policies: Ensure that maintenance activities align with the lodgexe2x80x99s policies and values, including its commitment to wildlife conservation and community engagement.
Stop generating Qualifications Formal Qualification /Trade Certificate in Maintenance. Experience in a Hospitality environment. Skills The successful candidate must have:
  • Min 5 years experience in a similar position in a Game Lodge
  • Combination of technical skills,

  • Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by a lodge located in a natural, wildlife-rich environment.
