Smart Meter Technician - Cape TownFull job descriptionSmart Meter TechnicianWe are looking for a talented Smart Meter Technician to join our technical team in a fast paced and agile environment. This role will be filled working from our Cape Town Head Office but will include some installations and on-site work.Minimum Requirements National Diploma or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Fluent reading and writing in English Language. Highly proficient computer skills. Code B Driver's license. Working in a high-pressure environment. Multitasking & task switching. Advanced scientific report writing. Data analytics, Interpretation, and analysis (Excel). Strong problem-solving acumen. Strong STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math's) skillset/capabilities. Highly proficient MS Office abilities (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.) Attention to detail and efficient tasking and task switching.Advantageous Requirements BTech/ BEng Tech Basic programming ability Automated Meter Reading Knowledge Proficient in at least two official South African Languages. Broad knowledge of automated metering reading. Broad knowledge of electrical systems. Broad knowledge of plumbing infrastructure. Understanding of computer networks. Understanding of communication technologies (GSM, NB-IoT, Sigfox). Own transport.Work Responsibilities Technical report writing. Troubleshooting of meter installations (Both onsite and remotely). Performing hardware setups and commissioning. Installer support. Supplier interaction. Client interaction & support. On the job learning. Supporting integrated back office with month-end reports. High-level system designs & drawings.
