Oversees systems performance, the monitoring of equipment and the management of vendor relationships. Responsible for capacity planning and continual assessments for process improvement to ensure that processes are well-documented, sustainable and scalable. Monitors ongoing practices to ensure consistency with policies, compliance regulations and control requirements. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

To supervise the Data Center infrastructure, personnel and administrative resources effectively, delivering high reliability, quality customer service and prudent cost control.=Bring to life and operate a new Data Center in a new market. Cover and manage all related aspects that go with this unique ramp up situation.

Key duties and Responsibilities

Provide mentoring and leadership to all the staff within your facility, fostering a culture of passion and commitment for reliability and customer service. Enable your team members to achieve their daily tasks as well as long term goals and training objectives. Promote collaboration with other departments across the business. Ensure a proactive culture towards QHSE is promoted and lead by example.

Attract, develop, motivate, and retain talent at your data center and across the business by playing a key role in recruitment, facilitating internal and external training, staff engagement activities, performance management and coaching.

Ensure all technical documentation relating to your facility is complete and up to date, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).

Facilitate all necessary audits on site and lead the implementation of audit recommendations.

Manage all change within the data center: planned, unplanned and as part of wider projects. Work with all relevant staff and departments to accurately forecast resources required and understand and communicate any potential impact to service or project delivery timescales.

Maintain and improve high QHSE and Security standards. Ensure a proactive culture towards Quality, Health, Safety, Environment (QHSE) and Security is promoted and lead by example.

Act as the point of escalation for any issues on-site, and from time to time across the other facilities within the business, taking a leadership role, directing, and managing teams through incidents.

Manage the site budget by having responsibility for all operational expenditures for your site. This includes the annual budgeting process, headcount requests, and requests for CAPEX investments, including exchange of end of life components and preparation for the annual reinvestment projects list.

Schedule, monitor and supervise the activities of all vendors providing service on the sitexe2x80x99s infrastructure, especially critical infrastructure components such as UPS systems, generators, transfer switches, electrical distribution equipment, fire detection and suppression systems and building automation controls. Ensure that all works in the data center are performed according to an approved MOP or SOP.

Ensure all service partners and specialist sub contactors/vendors adhere to strict service guidelines and maintain the Service Level Agreement metrics required to support your site and our customers. Work with our central procurement team as required to ensure we get the very best from all our vendors.

Perform all corporate required Human Resource functions such as developing job descriptions, performance criteria, performance evaluations, disciplinary documentation and administering the compensation program for the assigned staf

Design, develop, maintain and administer a proactive preventive maintenance program for all infrastructure equipment and systems to assure maximum reliability, availability and long service life.

Provide management reports on operational and systemsxe2x80x99 performance, historical service and labor requirements, material usage, project status, customer service issues and any other ad hoc requests

In close cooperation with the Engineering Team, actively forecast and manage energy usage, reporting on trends, opportunities for savings, action plan status, billing and power quality.

Liaise closely with various departments involved in the onboarding of new customers (such as CM and CDM) to ensure smooth handover and acceptance of projects whilst ensuring all relevant information is available to the operations team.

Identify working inefficiencies and constantly drive productivity and quality metrics. As well as stimulate the culture of a learning environment, implementing lessons learned and providing quality RCAxe2x80x99s following a high priority incident.

Skills:

Live and act along the NTT Values

Professional knowledge of English is required. Fluent in German.

Knowledge of computer- and network systems an advantage (helping hands and other services)

Independent, reliable, and efficient approach to work. Comfortable working through ambiguity, bringing clarity and control in a dynamic environment.

Good team worker, self-motivated, resourceful, outstanding communication skills, flexible, willing to work shifts and on a call-out basis

Ability to effectively work within a large/matrix organisation and utilise excellent communication skills to engage with personnel at all levels.

Requirements

Educated to a degree level in a technical field or equivalent work experience(Professional Electrical Engineering Degree preferred)

5+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a technician

2+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a management role

A Medium Voltage Authorized Professional

Several years of experience in operating, maintaining, and servicing technical electrical systems, refrigeration, air conditioning and climate control systems, as well as data center specific technology
