Manage all phases of the site acquisition process for new builds and colocations, from site identification to final approval and handover to construction.
Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation
Act as the main point of contact for landowners, municipalities, traditional authorities, and community leaders.
Negotiate and secure lease agreements, easements, and wayleaves with both private and public landowners.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance
Navigate permitting processes across local and district municipalities in the CEN and ECP regions.
Secure all necessary approvals, including zoning, building plan authorization, and environmental permits.
Ensure strict compliance with the Electronic Communications Act (ECA) and ICASA regulations.
Microwave Path Acquisition
Collaborate with RF planning teams to secure sites and permissions for microwave hop links.
Negotiate roof rights and tower space agreements for microwave equipment installation.
Due Diligence
Conduct detailed feasibility studies, including title deed verification, land use compliance, and environmental impact assessments.
Relationship Management
Establish and maintain professional relationships with municipal planners, councilors, and community representatives to enable smooth project execution.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience in site acquisition or related field.
If the candidate demonstrates strong expertise and proven track record, experience may be relaxed to 3 years. No specific formal qualification is required; however, a background in telecommunications, real estate, or project management will be an advantage. Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple sites and timelines effectively. Knowledge of regulatory processes, lease agreements, and property documentation is preferred.
