Degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering OR a National Diploma in Mechanical or Design Engineering.
Min 3 - 5 years of experience in a Simulation Engineering role.
Previous simulation experience in linear and non-linear finite element analysis would be greatly advantageous.
Responsibilities
Develop concepts and perform problem-solving to meet the design criteria under the supervision of the Chief Engineer.
Define, create, solve, and interpolate simulation models according to the specifications provided by the Chief Engineer.
Evaluate finite element simulations.
Prepare simulation models of components; sub-assemblies and assemblies, using the business file structure guidelines, number protocol, and design standards.
Prepare simulation solutions of design concepts, using own initiative and incorporating the inputs of members of the development team.
Responsible for the technical integrity of the allocated simulation, including the integrity of the results and conclusions made.
Document and record simulation results.
Ensure traceability of simulation models or results.
Follow the development process and procedures as described in the quality system, ensuring that the relevant reviews and procedures are completed, to reduce design risk.
Assist during the testing of prototypes, ensuring that closed-loop feedback can take place during the simulation process.
Communicate with the testing and design team, to ensure the flow of information during prototyping and development.
Ensure all project documentation is generated and gathered, as well as filled according to business processes.
Communicate and incorporate inputs from the test and design parties during the design process.
Include the test and design parties to perform tests to complete the design cycle utilising business processes.
Plan and schedule tests as required on allocated simulations.
Ensure that projects are executed according to the time, mass, and budget targets.
Represent the business at design reviews.
Attend design reviews internally and externally with the client.
Management of simulations throughout the acquisition phase, being accountable.
Manage a simulation group, within a program.
Planning the work loading of simulation personnel and license requirements.
Drafting, approval, and sign-off of simulation tasks.
Responsible for the execution of simulation projects, under the supervision of the Senior Simulation Engineer.
Design support, capturing of requirements during the development phase.
Assist ILS with feedback to design on repair, maintenance, and other information required.
Responsible for the allocated simulation from inception up to sign-off.
Ensuring components are assessed with the correct load cases during the development phase.
