Job Description


Do you enjoy ensuring people's safety? Our client has an opportunity available for a SHERQ Officer: Health and Safety.

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Diploma or Degree in Safety/ Quality Management/ Risk Management with a SAMTRAC or NEBOSH qualification.
  • ISO 9000 or ISO 45000 Lead Auditor qualification would be advantageous.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience in an operational environment working in a health and safety role.
  • Training in First Aid and Fire Prevention would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relevant SHERQ legislations and regulatory requirements.
KPAs:
  • Coordinate and facilitate SHERQ risk assessments and work with operations to develop the best mitigation plan.
  • Maintain the IIRMS and external assurance systems.
  • Conduct inspections and internal audits to ensure the adherence to IIRMS requirements.
  • Implement and drive the implementation of SHERQ programmes.
  • Develop monitoring schedules to ensure compliance with statutory requirements for health and safety.
  • Coordinate effective testing of emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure that effective SHE committee meetings are conducted.
  • Promote and adhere to the company's procedures, policies and guidelines including those related to SHERQ, Competition law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
