Job Description


Our client, a proudly South African manufacturing company, seeks your SHE experience to identify and eliminate all potential risks in the work place.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree / National Diploma in Safety, Health and Environment Management (Safety Management).
  • ISO 14000 / SAMTRAC.
  • Min. 3 years experience, pref in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant OHS Act legislation.
  • Automotive background a strong advantage.
  • SHE and Security, policies, and procedures exp.
  • SHE Management system knowledge.
Competences: Knowledge and Skills:
  • Implementation of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Relevant current OHSA legislation.
  • Basic Health and Safety principles in and around a workplace.
  • Basic Occupational Hygiene principles.
  • Emergency preparedness and response.
  • Fires in working places.
  • Incident and accident investigation techniques.
  • Safety leadership & awareness
  • Systematic problem-solving & decision-making.
  • Teamwork.
  • Adaptability.
  • Detail-orientated.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Interpersonal skills.
Key Performance Indicators:
Report to the Operations Manager:
  • SHE Management and Security:
  • Implement and maintain adherence to safe working practices and policies.
  • Monitor compliance to SHE requirements.
  • Maintain Health, Safety and Security standards.
  • Conduct Planned Task Observations and take appropriate action to address identified risks.
  • Conduct incident investigations and RCA.
  • Co-ordinate emergency evacuation drills.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of SHE policies and procedures.
  • Operate according to standard operating procedures and within the parameters of applicable legislation.
  • SHE Management System:
  • Comply with the requirements of the SHE Management system.
  • SHE Audits:
  • Conduct SHE audits.
  • Risk Assessments:
  • Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues.
  • Emergencies/Incident & Accident Investigations:
  • Deal with SHE emergencies.
  • Conduct preliminary incident investigations into workplace SHE incidents.
  • SHE Administration:
  • Maintain and update SHE Notice Boards.
  • Conduct Toolbox meetings and SHE meetings.
  • Finance:
  • Monitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc.).
  • Participate in the audit process.
  • Adhere to Financial policies and procedures.
  • Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets).
  • Detect and prevent fraud.
  • Promote good Corporate Governance.
