Add Location: This role is based in Amandelbult





-The Shaft Rock Engineer is responsible for providing the Shaft with specialist Rock Engineering services and expertise that forms part of the MRM department.


Setting rock engineering standards at a Shaft Advise on rock engineering issues Stop dangerous or nonstandard working places Preparation and design of rock engineering plans and reports Calling out specialist rock engineering expertise when problems occur Rock engineering budget preparation and management Compile and maintain mandatory Code of Practice to combat rock bursts and rock falls Day-to-day engineering and design recommendations suitably backed up by modelling or other techniques Alternative support systems Accident investigation and associated reporting
This position will be reporting the Chief Rock Engineer



Qualifications

-COM Rock Mechanics Certificate [for Metalliferous Mines] 5 years' experience in mining; rock engineering or strata control Demonstrated ability to meet technical and responsibility requirements of the legal appointment. Member of professional body (SANIRE)
