Conducting risk assessments within the area of responsibility
Conduct planned task observations
Conducts accidents and incidents investigations and implement the remedial actions.
Implement safety standards, procedures, fatal risk protocols and codes of practice (COPs)
Ensuring that all employees are competent and trained to do work safely
Implement and monitor maintenance of equipment to the required maintenance strategies
Monitor the implementation of and adherence to operating and maintenance procedures
Monitor the equipment performance (trend analysis and rectify deviations)
Scheduling of hoisting ore types
Conduct at least monthly shaft examination and make recommendations based on maintenance requirements.
Control of shaft/station systems to ensure shift control
Planned maintenance to ensure equipment/ system functionality
Recommend re-design of systems to improve the maintenance strategy and safety
Implement and manage projects for continuous improvement
Ensure efficient utilisation of resources to fulfil maintenance strategy requirements
Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of resources
Analyse system reports so as to improve the equipment performance
Provide coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff.
Development and maintenance of individual development plans for reporting staff
NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) or N3 in Engineering studies
Onsetters Certificate
Blasting Certificate for scheduled mines
At least 5 years experience, preferably 2 years in a supervisory role
Ability to communicate with people on different levels
Valid Certificate of physical fitness
Drivers license
