Job Description
Job Summary You will maintain and repair mechanical installations such as ventilation systems, water supply networks, and heat pumps across various public and commercial buildings including airports, hospitals, and educational institutions. Each day you determine your tasks in consultation with your team and the client.
Your responsibilities include:
- Performing scheduled maintenance and urgent repairs on HVAC and water systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving faults swiftly, both remotely and on location
- Coordinating with the site's technical manager and subcontractors where needed
- Ordering necessary materials and ensuring proper administrative handling
- Participating in an on-call rotation every eight weeks for emergency services outside business hours
- Engaging directly with clients to align on timelines and respond to questions
Your technical insight and hands-on skills make all the difference for clients. You enjoy building long-term relationships, solving problems, and managing your own day-to-day schedule.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A Red Seal Certificate as a Millwright or HVAC Technician (or equivalent trade)
- At least 2 years of experience in mechanical building installation maintenance
- A valid driver's license
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Willingness to rotate on-call for emergency services (1 week every 8 weeks)
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English - and motivated to learn Dutch
