Role Context
To assist walk-in customers in a prompt, professional and courteous manner and to ensure that Customer Service administrative tasks are completed on a daily basis. Maintaining the existing customer base by building customer loyalty through an efficient service, effective problem solving and customer care, maximizing all potential opportunities for shipment and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

To integrate quality into the business by ensuring that every customer contact is a demonstration of DHL'S insanely customer centric culture. To provide first time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of the customers immediate and future needs Ensure that when cash is taken in at reception, a cash control sheet is completed / updated immediately after cash is received. Ensure that accurate banking of cash is completed on a daily basis. Responsible to send all banking slips and records to the Finance Department upon completion of banking and updating of cash control sheets. Ensure that all shipments on hold at reception are scanned every morning, customers to be advised daily that their documents/shipments are awaiting collection. Responsible for messages to be recorded on a service alert stick daily. Responsible to conduct security inspections on all of walk-in and account shipments every day. Ensure that no unauthorized people enter the building. Responsible for issuing visitors with a visitors' badge when signing them in at reception. Responsible and accountable for generating direct revenue with the Service Point. Ensure the correct solution is provided to the customer's enquiry and propose the most appropriate DHL offering to the customer. Responsible to match customer needs to service offering by understanding the needs and recommending the appropriate services ensuring the DHL service and revenue targets are achieved. Ensure that agreed targets are achieved whilst providing a quality service to all customers. Follow GSOP at all times. Ensure quality is integrated into the business at all times. Assist supervisor / manager with daily tasks as required. Ensure that all customer details/requirements are captured accurately onto the relevant systems. Security Inspect 100% of walk-in and account shipments on all shipments. Position requires flexibility. Although based at one location, this position requires that should the need arise, you will be assigned to another service point locations as and when operational requirements dictate.

Minimum Requirements of the job

Education & experienceMatric / Equivalent Previous customer facing experience PC Literacy, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous courier / airfreight experience 1 - 2 years Customer Service experience DHL systems experience / knowledge Knowledge of customs procedures Knowledge of customs procedures
