Service Engineer / Installation & Maintenance Technician - JhbFull job descriptionA food sanitation equipment producer is looking to employ a Service Engineer / Installation & Maintenance Technician in the larger Gauteng region on a permanent basis. The companyxe2x80x99s head office is based in Cape Town and therefore this position will be based from home, although you will be traveling to clientsxe2x80x99 sites every day.The equipment installation and maintenance engineer or technician will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of the companyxe2x80x99s equipment within the food industry. The ideal candidate will have mechanical, electrical and plumping experience working with industrial equipment, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Food industries - e.g. agriculture, poultry, fish, dairy. etcThe candidate will ideally need to be based within Gauteng as they will need to attend to clients within the Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West and Limpopo areas.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and repair on equipment at customer sites.Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues and develop solutions to resolve them.Conduct installation and commissioning of new equipment.Collaborate with customers to identify their needs and provide technical support.Prepare reports and documentation related to equipment maintenance, repair, and installationTrain customers on how to use the equipment efficiently and safely.Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure efficient and effective resolution of issues.Identify spares requirements and log usage.Requirements:Degree, diploma, or certification in electrical or mechanical engineering will be beneficial, but experience for this role is the most important.Proven experience working with industrial equipment, preferably in the food industry or related fields (e.g. agriculture, poultry, fish, dairy)Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.Available to attend breakdowns or do repairs and maintenance on weekends when required.Must have own vehicle and be in possession of a valid driver's license.Must be willing to stay away from home for a few days in the month,Passport for international travel is advantageous.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Salary: R30,000 to R45,000k per month dependant on skills and experience.
