Service Controller (Security) job vacancy in Johannesburg.
We are seeking a highly vigilant and professional Service Controller to be the operational core of our security service.
This is a critical 24/7 role that requires intense focus, quick decision-making, and superior communication skills to manage and coordinate rapid responses to security incidents within our service area (Pretoria East and surrounding communities).
Salary: R10,000 to R25,000 per month.
Key Responsibilities:
Alarm Monitoring & Response Dispatch: Monitor all alarm systems (commercial and residential) and promptly dispatch Armed Response or technical teams according to established protocol.
Incident Management: Log all incidents accurately and in detail, track the progress of deployed response units, and coordinate with supervisors until the situation is resolved.
Communication Hub: Maintain clear and professional communication via two-way radio and telephone with patrol officers, armed response teams, management, and clients during active incidents.
Geographic Knowledge: Utilize your strong knowledge of Pretoria East, the Greater Boschkop area, Rayton, and Cullinan to guide response units to correct locations quickly and efficiently.
Systems Management: Operate and monitor CCTV systems, panic systems, and other electronic security equipment, immediately reporting any system faults to the technical department.
Reporting: Compile comprehensive, accurate shift handover reports and incident reports for management.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Control Room Operator or in a similar dispatch/monitoring role within the security industry is highly beneficial.
Strong verbal communication skills in both Afrikaans and English are preferred to effectively communicate with a diverse range of clients and staff.
In-depth, practical knowledge of the Pretoria East and surrounding areas (Boschkop, Rayton, Cullinan) is essential.
Ability to work demanding shifts (day, night, weekends, and public holidays).
High level of proficiency and composure when dealing with high-stress situations.
Excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills for accurate record-keeping.
