Job Purpose:
The Service Advisor acts as the main liaison between the customer and the workshop, providing excellent customer service while ensuring the efficient coordination of vehicle servicing and repairs. This role is crucial in maintaining high customer satisfaction and contributing to the dealership's performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers professionally and determine their service or repair needs.
Open job cards and accurately record customer concerns and vehicle symptoms.
Provide service quotes and explain recommended services and costs.
Liaise between customers and technicians to ensure clear communication.
Follow up with customers on job progress, approval of additional work, and completion timelines.
Conduct pre- and post-service follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
Coordinate vehicle handovers and ensure vehicles are returned clean and on time.
Maintain service records and update CRM systems.
Promote upselling of additional services, parts, or maintenance plans.
Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and efficiently.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12).
2-4 years' experience as a Service Advisor in the motor industry (dealer environment preferred).
Knowledge of vehicle servicing and mechanical terminology.
Proficient in Dealer Management Systems (e.g., Kerridge, Autoline, CDK).
Strong administrative and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid South African driver's license.
Fluent in English (additional South African languages an advantage).
Preferred Attributes:
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) dealership experience (e.g., Toyota, VW, Ford, etc.).
Understanding of service department KPIs (e.g., hours sold, CSI scores).
Target-driven and able to upsell services effectively.
Friendly, professional, and well-presented.
