This Sector is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Senior Design Engineer.

Core Purpose

Project leader/task leader for consulting engineering in water and sanitation related to engineering projects.
Tasks include planning, design, tender, construction monitoring of projects as well as general responsibilities with
respect to marking, proposals and management of staff.

Key Performance Areas

• Programme work and set productivity targets in discussion with the Project Manager
• Obtain and confirm acceptance of appointments in writing
• Prepare time/cost estimates for clients on projects
• Plan and monitor progress of projects
• Perform design work as required
• Prepare project reports, specifications, minutes, correspondence
• Control the quality and productivity of work done
• Attend meetings with clients
• Ensure that specific client and project requirement are implemented
• Obtain and confirm detailed project briefs and prepare budgets
• Compile report and bids
• Projects built to specifications
• Quality of work at acceptable standards
• Ensure accurate as-built records
• Professional registration of junior staff
• Conformance of the proposal to the clientxe2x80x99s requirements
• Review documents prepared by junior staff
• Invoicing
• Management of budgets
• Management of project quality
• Identify and secure new clients

Job Requirements

Qualification:

• PrEng Civil
• Professionally registered with SCAPCMP an advantage

Experience:

15 xe2x80x93 20 yearsxe2x80x99 experience
