Time Conditions: 5 day Work Week (South Africa)








Purpose of Position: To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches.








Requirements: Certificate: Medical Technician, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field

Required Experience: Experience in pathology laboratory environment, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)








Key Responsibilities: Maintain and perform external quality program tasks in order to ensure that external quality standards are upheld within the laboratory, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Perform accreditation and quality control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld, Perform accreditation and quality control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld, Perform identifications and sensitivities in order to ensure effective handling and processing identifications and sensitivities, Perform management responsibilities in the absence of the Technologist in Charge, Perform materials management related tasks in order to ensure effective control over stock and to ensure sufficient stock levels at all times, Perform materials management related tasks in order to ensure effective control over stock and to ensure sufficient stock levels at all times, Process and analyse specimens in molecular biology, Reading culture plates and interpreting results on all culture benches according to relevant working instructions
