LOCATION: Gauteng, Northern Suburbs ideally but could be elsewhere.

Expertise in the retail investment space is critical. This is the subject matter expertise they don't have.

Our client is a global investment provider, steering our diverse clients on a comfortable journey towards holistic financial well-being.

They now seek a senior technical investment specialist to join their team. Brand new role for a new project targeting a new area of the business. This is a role for a suitably qualified affirmative action candidate.

You must be able to hit the ground running on the below, namely:

  • Understand the customer segment we looking to unlock - individual investor / discretionary savings;
  • Experience and understanding of retails products in the discretionary savings space (tax-free savings, RA, annuities, etc) ;
  • Experience in building and positioning product and advice within this segment;
  • Supporting campaign strategies into this segment (communication, marketing collateral, articles, etc);
  • Solid understanding of opportunity assessment and commercialisation in this segment - as above;
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
  • You will be required to lead and support specialist with responsibility for the provision of the full range of technical marketing services, including provision of better and more insightful information, research, thought leadership, enhancements to existing communication and educational material;
  • You will be required to uses a wide breadth and depth of experience and sound judgement, to add value through client-centric communication and engagement, working with specialist across the business to create, curate and deliver correct, consistent messaging to clients and prospect clients;
  • You will be responsible for the development and oversight of material relating to new portfolios and services and structured rollout thereof in support of asset accumulation strategies. You will be required to support effective teamwork and collaboration across the company business to deliver compelling client value propositions;
  • You will be required to work closely with head of technical marketing, investment team and client channels team to ensure that one improves their communication to clients and enhance the client experience through presentations, written documents, articles and though leadership;
  • You will be required to support junior specialists' development, fosters a collegiate environment and encourages innovation and creative thought to differentiate us from peers;
  • You will be required to contribute to the profitability of the company; by curating and creating quality content that empowers the successful delivery of our value proposition to grow and/or retain the client base;
  • You will be required to participate in internal and external marketing initiatives (e.g. industry forums and conferences) and contributes to the development of our intellectual capital and thought leadership;
  • Support and build technical marketing function:
  • You will be required to deliver on annual technical marketing collateral plans comprising a mix of analytical reports, written reports, thought leadership pieces and presentations to various internal and external clients, providing clients with confidence to select and adopt appropriate solutions and services;
  • Collaboration:
  • You will be required to develop technical marketing collateral into saving, investments and retirement planning:
  • You will be required to work with the product and marketing teams to develop how our products are positioned in the market. Also work with marketing, distribution and training to communicate that positioning effectively and to help enhance commerciality and client experience;
  • You will be required to be a trusted technical specialist and work with the wider marketing team to contribute to and validate content for campaigns, events and communications;
  • You will be required to provide technical support and insight to guide the development of PR plans through the year;
  • Delivery:
  • You will be required to have a proven ability translate complex investment and business-related concepts into simple and intuitive communications that are engaging for intermediaries and clients;
  • Thought leadership:
  • You will be required to analyse the strategic requirement for promotional activities and plan the content promotions and campaigns accordingly. You will be required to consult the product specialists and other professionals to take their inputs while preparing these strategic deliverables

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • You have a B.Com /
(finance or a related field in financial services): Journalism qualification with industry experience; * You have a minimum of 5 - years current, relevant experience;
  • You are proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
  • You have broad marketing, communication, and sales experience in all areas of investments and asset management industry and a good understanding of the needs of large institutional investors as well as discretionary, individual investors. You will be in a very high-profile team. This is a new initiative which is being given huge support but needs expert skills like yours to assist in the success of this project.
