Job Summary We are looking for a seasoned Trade and Working Capital Sales expert. In this role you will identify and engage with new-to-bank corporate clients across target markets that do not have an existing banking relationship with the Bank. The main focus is to acquire clients for the Trade business.

The job will entail:
o Identifying of target clients
o Originating and qualifying the opportunity
o Seeking credit approval for facilities
o Executing and implementing deal as approved
o Strategy formulation and execution



In this role your key accountabilities will include the following;

Origination/Acquisition:

• Maintaining an active calling program with non-banked corporate clients (annual revenues of R1bn and greater) with the primary purpose of securing Trade and Working Capital facilities for the target prospects whilst cross selling the broader CIB value proposition.
• Identifying research and create a target list of potential new clients for sourcing and engagement.
• Identifying potential clients post coverage interlock, who should be contacted. The Specialist is accountable to ensure that the bankxe2x80x99s representatives have a full understanding of the clientxe2x80x99s business operations, Trade and Working Capital and International Banking requirements.
• Engaging with stakeholders i.e. Coverage, risk, operations to appropriately solution the client.

Deal Project Management:

• Managing all live and active transactions by working with the respective deal teams to ensure seamless execution.

Risk Management:

• Ensuring adherence to Absa-wide compliance and risk policy procedures
• Operating in accordance with Absaxe2x80x99s risk appetite and lending procedures
• Responsible for credit risk management with the respective coverage teams and management of credit action plan

Operations and Compliance:

• Actively keep up to date with all relevant knowledge, legislation and developments within the business unit and banking industry that may have an impact on the effective delivery on the role

• B-degree in Commerce, Sales & Marketing or Finance; and/or any other suitable academic field of study
• 8 xe2x80x93 10 years Trade Specialist experience with a track record in documentary trade, supply chain and open account short term lending transactions.

Bachelors Degree and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
