PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION



Manage all pre-construction and construction processes, fixture ordering, construction of new stores and remodels of existing stores as per market policy and procedures. Ensuring timely and cost-effective construction and delivery of New / Remodel of stores for our Franchise (Export) Market.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Manage the adidas Retail Construction processes - planning, scope of works, request for quotations, approvals, and deliveries.Ensuring and following up on the timeous approval wrt layout planning & sign off of final store design technical pack for constructionRecommend and comment on floor layouts and other local design elements to enhance customer experience/ presentation without deviating from Global guidelines. Work with local design agencies (where required) to develop concept drawings & detailed construction drawings based on store format, guidelines and commercially relevant for the store size, shape, traffic flow, and surrounding retail environment. Review each store's layout plan and construction drawings carefully and release to other parties for quoting.Manage the store build processes end to end, to achieve targeted opening date, including timely confirmation of store layout plan, placing of fixture orders, arranging shipments, and achieving all relevant store quality demands.Perform regular site quality checks during the construction phase and update the stakeholders with the status. Coordinate with all Local vendors or Customer project managers (WHS & Franchise) to ensure design and construction standards are met during the construction phase.Work closely with cross-functional departments (eg. Ops, Visual Merchandising, Sales, Procurement and Brand) to ensure seamless communication between teams.Proactively provide solutions to any problems or issues raised internally or externally as pertains to active projects or maintenance queries.Follow through with all snag related items post store openings. Request purchase orders through team members for each procurement/maintenance activity whilst adhering to internal NTP policies and guidelines.Financial Assist Senior Store Development Manager with creation of budgets per store build, based on concept, and keep a record of all costs spent on projects. (excel sheets).Control and manage the on-site extras (variations) against the approved budget during the course of a project. Ensure full visibility on all quotes, PO requests & PO creation ahead of on-site activity in line with Finance and NTP guidelines.Closely monitor all maintenance quotes in line with materials usage, travelling time, callout fees, replacement of items, SLA, etc. This to ensure best practice and quality.Systems and Processes Use the global Retail Sourcing Platform (RSP) to order fixtures and fittings and update the phases regularly, (through to phase 10), to avoid any delays in production or packing.Work closely with the Freight forwarder and have full visibility of shipping, customs and transport timing to the relevant site.Ensure regular stock takes are done on fixtures, and equipment stored in warehouses with franchise partners, to adequately manage SOH, for future use.Training Attend regular training hosted by Global and Hub (concept Engineering teams) on concept updates & developments.Key Relationships:Emerging Markets (Hub): Store Development Team EM Local cluster EM South: Store Development EMS team, Franchise Sales Managers, Franchise Excellence Manager, Trade marketing team, Visual Merchandising (Omnichannel) teams and Finance Department.




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Strong and clear communication skills.Understanding construction processes and methodologies.Ability to read and understand construction technical drawings.Strong administration and project management skills. Technical knowledge of a vast range of construction materials, and their usage. Proficiency in MS Office Applications Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point (Autocad beneficial). Ability to influence and drive consensus and solutions with cross functional teams (internal and external) . Ability to speak, read and write in English fluently, additional language skills beneficial. Frequent travel (international) to each franchise market in Africa.




REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


University degree/diploma in Civil/ Architecture/Construction/Project Management. 4-5 Years of overall working experience in the construction industry, preferably in the retail store build environment.
