The best person for this role will be someone who already is, or is working towards becoming a true advisor for hiring teams and candidates in our niche.
The Adventure: What You'll Do

  • Partner with your team, and eventually, directly with clients, who are founders and department leaders of scaling tech businesses to really understand their needs.
  • Own outcomes end-to-end, set your own tasks to achieve those outcomes. Of course, you will have support and guidance but the ability to own your own outcomes will be needed in a small team. This is why we need a smart, seasoned professional who can self manage.
  • Be the go-to dependable delivery expert for your team and our clients in our niche.
  • Come up with effective recruitment strategies to draw in the people we need in order to build strong talent pools
  • Our team works on commited search projects mostly. We need to place every role entrusted to us. Your role will include research, mapping (with the help of the team), create exceptionally well crafted outreach, execute on that, interview, analyse, assess and make good decisions with confidence.
  • Continuously improve and refine your interview style and skills, balancing persuasion with exploration, assessment for fit - not just interest.
  • Manage projects, tracking, planning and reporting to ensure all projects run smoothly
  • Learn and refine your skills in our systems, tech and tools to continuously improve and expand our success on all projects
  • Deliver on complex roles with precision - this will take research, planning, execution, positioning, assessment, reporting, management and delivery. You'll need to continuously develop and improve these skills. You will have support of your team and no one loves bouncing ideas and strategising more than we do.
  • Grow with the team, shaping processes as we build, taking pride in what you contribute and shape with us.
  • Work with your team to solve the needs of the business as they come up even when they are a bit outside of your role.
  • This role will be delivery focused but we need someone capable of being client facing within a few months of your start.
  • For a few hours week you'll collaborate with your team to come up with ideas to drive the business, projects, systems, and accounts forward - to innovate and improve everything from processes, to sales, marketing and ops. These won't be your responsibility but they'll be areas of collaboration that will expand your overall business understanding as well as your impact.
What You'll Need to Bring
  • 5+ years in recruitment or talent acquisition (agency is strongly preferred. If in-house, you will need to be proactive and will need to prove that you excel in hunting persuasively, not just responding).
  • Your 5 years needs to be focused on the South African Talent market - international hiring does not help here at all
  • Experience in B2B tech/SaaS or payments environments is a strong plus. We are far more interested in your scale-up / SME recruitment experience than your corporate recrutment experience. While much of it is transferable it is very different.
  • Strong writing and communication - you can position a message, or a request with a marketing flare.
  • Confidence in interviewing and assessing fit beyond the CV.
  • Comfort with evolving systems and environments where change is the norm.
  • A growth mindset, integrity, and hunger to build your own path.
