Role purpose
To provide high level technical support in the Radio Planning and Optimisation environment and to correct network quality and Radio Planning and Optimisation impacting problems
Your responsibilities will include
Act as team leader for the regional/county planning & optimisation team
Perform network optimisation for RAN network, by consulting and advising at Regional and/or County Level
Identification, planning and implementation of new RAN equipment features and new technology, to improve quality and to support rollout.
Perform analysis of drive tests logs & remedial actions
Manage higher order network element planning & configuration, including future capacity implementation and plans
Liaison with central and regional stakeholders and external contractors.
Ensure alignment between county, regional & national strategy
Provide Support to various functional teams
Managed various high-level projects
Managed regional and county cost efficiencies
The ideal candidate for this role willl have
Technical / Professional Qualifications:
3 years National Diploma or Degree in Electrical (light current) or Electronic Engineering or a SAQA accredited equivalent in a related field with at least 5 years' experience in a Radio Planning and Optimisation environment within a telecommunications network operator.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
Good knowledge of RF antennas and systems
Good knowledge and experience in ATOL planning tool
Good knowledge & experience in drive test & analysis tools
GSM / UMTS / LTE planning and optimisation principles
5G planning & optimisation principles advantageous
Project Management basic knowledge
Exposure to UMTS / LTE/5G planning & optimisation tools.
Radio environment knowledge (RF)
Exposure to IP fundamentals
Nokia Equipment Knowledge preferable
