Introduction
Komatsu South Africa is seeking a skilled Engineer to join their Head Office Division who has experience in integrating, analysing and interpreting large mining machine performance and condition statistics for on-site customers in Germiston. The successful candidate must have a degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronic/Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years' experience in Earthmoving and Mobile equipment environment conducting data analysis on machine performance.
Qualifications:

• B. Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical /Mechatronic Engineering (NQF 7 or higher)

Experience:

• 4 years' experience in Earth Moving & Mobile equipment with experience in;
• high level of ICT proficiency in data analytics and ICT tools
• Proven track record of successful customer relationships

Specific knowledge requirements:

• Project management
• Mining or construction project environment with earth moving equipment
• Root Cause Analysis and Process improvement Methodologies
• Data analysis from fleet management software (beneficial)
• Compilation of data extraction & reporting
• ISO experience & knowledge, Kaizen methodologies

Role summary:

• Coordinates/Participates in training programs or other media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
• Participates in safety compliance issues by identifying issues and providing hazard analysis and assessments.
• Collaborates with the SHE-function in the roll our SHE events
• Assesses and critically reviews processes in Safety & health Environmental Improvement Projects.
• Consult and participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for company, using hearing, litigation and insurance investigations
• Identifies and initiates disciplinary action regarding non-compliance to SHE policy
• Plan continuous improvement projects - continuous projects
• Execute project management tasks.
• Chairs project management meetings
• Drafting project progress reports
• Communicates divisional specific information to all staff as per agreed communication plan from leadership
• Liaises with and fosters sound ethical stakeholder relationships.
• Provides visionary change leadership with regards to project initiatives
• Provides technical support and guidance to Operations in trouble shooting machine/process/component ICT related system issues.
• Train, coache and mentor operational staff and customers on Komatsu machine ICT systems, e.g. EQP-care, RealDisplay, PLM, etc.
• Stays abreast with systems, databases & new developments in Komatsu environment
• Stays abreast of products specifications, performance parameters and other relevant data required to perform meaningful analytics.
• Coordinates Remote Health Monitoring team and engagement with customers on-site team
• Coordinating maintenance activities to keep machine health interfaces on HME operational and data flowing to the respective servers (i.e. Minecare & KMAP)
• Utilises Grafana and Minecare to detect HME (Heavy Mining Equipment) reliability concerns.
• Attend stakeholder management meetings.
• Monitors data gathering mechanisms and processes and procedures.
