Job Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food
- Ensure high-quality dishes are served on time
- Oversee food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage kitchen inventory and budget
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and work under pressure
- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of best practises for food safety and sanitation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience working in a high-volume restaurant or hotel
- Additional certifications in culinary arts
- Fast-paced kitchen environment
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical demands including standing, walking, and lifting heavy items
