We are looking for a skilled and driven

Senior Software Quality Engineer

to join our team in

Cape Town (Hybrid - minimum 3 days onsite at Pinelands office).

In this role, you'll play a key part in designing and implementing robust automated testing solutions, actively contributing to agile delivery, and integrating quality practices into the CI/CD pipeline. You'll bring strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to help deliver high-quality, reliable software.


Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers. Design, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks for scalable and maintainable testing. Participate actively in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and quality-related discussions. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid feedback and efficient deployments. Analyse test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to drive timely resolutions. Continuously improve test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness. Contribute to quality strategies and promote best practices in test automation and quality engineering. (Advantageous) Contribute to performance and security testing initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience ISEB / ISTQB Certification Additional course or certification in Quality Engineering

Experience:
Strong hands-on experience in test automation, covering: + UI testing
+ API testing
+ Integration testing
Proven expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks. Proficiency in

Playwright

using

JavaScript/TypeScript

. Experience integrating automated tests into

CI/CD pipelines

. Strong understanding of agile methodologies and active participation in sprint activities. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Solid communication and collaboration skills. * Advantageous: Experience in performance testing and security testing.
