Requirements



Relevant technical or professional tertiary qualification preferably

a B-Tech or B-Degree in the Geomatics field. This includes BSc



or BTech in Geographic Information Systems / Land Surveying /



Geomatics or Cartography or Electrical



Relevant GIS courses Registration with SAGC in a relevant Technologist or Professional

category is optional



A minimum of 5 - 8 years relevant experience Extensive experience in the recording and capture of electricity

distribution systems



Key Performance Areas



Manages Regional Drawing Office Planning, organising, directing and controlling all technical and

non-technical functions of the Section



Manages recording of detailed as-built electrical infrastructure Monitoring above ground cable location for wayleave and

property subdivision purposes



Monitoring the capture of detailed high/ medium/ low voltage

and public lighting as-built information of cable routes,



overhead lines, substation layouts, and cable joints



Undertakes specific tasks associated with the provision of a

design facility



Manages and controls technical and operational outcomes

associated with standardisation of plans



Engaging with spatial data sources to promote conformance to

local and national standards, and directorate policies



Facilitates and co-ordinates the professional, technical and

operational outcomes associated with wayleaves and land



matters



Communicates with senior management, fellow professionals as

well as internal and external customers to address issues of



common interest and share information, and co-ordinate



administrative tasks



Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements

associated with the performance of the Section
