The Senior Production Planner has to provide support to the production team through the scheduling of production jobs and by coordinating all production administrative activities through the production process to ensure that all production jobs are closed off in due time.
KEY TASKS
Responsibilities:
Assists in the execution of projects by performing a wide variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to the timely management of production jobs
Responsible for supervising all planning and admin functions in Production and Testing
Oversight of production scheduling and approval of schedules
Responsible for cross-departmental coordination to ensure seamless communication between all critical departments
Responsible for capacity and resource planning
Responsible for KPI monitoring and reporting to track Production and Testing performance and improvements
Risk management and contingency planning to mitigate potential disruptions in Production
Responsible for the communication and coordination of SYSPRO job maintenance and management, as well as material shortages
Responsible for Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) maintenance and management
Responsible for ensuring there is a long term forecast that is used to generate a smooth production plan to meet customer commitments
Responsible for the planning and coordination of new products entering production, including timely management of development products
Collaboration with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules
Work closely with the Continuous Improvement team to identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements for Production Planning and Administration
Creating production schedules in APS and issuing to the production and test team
Tracking production schedules and making sure that they are met by communicating changes to the production team
Coordinating and communicating any changes to schedules that may have an impact on client delivery dates with the Head of Production and PMO
Supporting the production team with the completion of tasks in the manufacturing management system (scheduling thereof)
Responsible to ensure that completed jobs are receipted into Syspro (ERP system)
Coordinate with the Production Manager to resolve production scheduling
Responsible to import all jobs start and end-dates on Syspro and report changes to PMO
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Production Planning, Demand Planning, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain (or similar)
Experience & Knowledge:
At least 5 years of production planning experience within a high-tech manufacturing environment
Computer proficiency in MS Office & ERP systems
Previous exposure to other production planning tools will be an added advantage
Syspro experience will be an advantage

Proven ability to manage cross-departmental coordination and communication
