Position: Senior Payroll Administrator

Reporting to: HR Manager

General :

The Senior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing is executed whilst overseeing the Wage Administrator in their day-to-day functions. The role is also responsible for the correct payments to third parties and management thereof.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage, capture and administer day to day processing of the payrolls - Salaries and Wages
• Controlling and leading team of 1 payroll administrators
• Management of relevant council submissions and other 3rd party payments both internally and externally (MIBCO, RMA, Sanlam, UIF, MEIBC)
• SQUBE Time and Attendance
• FIHRST Management Services uploads of Garnishee, Nett and Third part payments
• Responsible for electronic batch imports for processing of each payroll frequency
• Internal and external Audits
• Manage reporting lines, terminations and appointments (including all other data integrity) on myDana and payroll systems
• ODBC Reporting
• Manage Time & Attendance. as well as biometrics (inclusive of contractors)
• Manage accruals (leave provisions, bonus calculations)
• Maintain the payroll system, perform required backup according to the schedule required by legislation and the requirements of the company
• Basic tax calculations
• Responsible for all company benefit service providers (medical aid, provident fund, etc) reconciliations and deductions. Main point of contact.
• Print variance report, check against previous month and track all payroll activities on a tracking sheet
• Manage mid-year and year-end payroll activities (Tax reconciliation and submission mid-year and year end, printing and distributing IRP5, SARS annual and periodic submissions)
• Salary/wage recon - ensure all control accounts = zero
• Assist HR Manager with Adhoc Duties
• Yearly Return of Earnings submissions (ROE Workmen Compensation)
• Drafting of employment contracts
• Disability claims
• Retirement claims

Education & Experience:

• Matric
• Payroll/Financial Payroll qualification would be advantageous
• 5 years VIP Payroll Administrator experience including report writing experience, with in a automotive manufacturing industry with a payroll size of 500 plus.
• Experience with Sage, ODBC, Sagxc3xa9 Intelligence, electronic batch imports
• Experience of using Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Financial acumen with regards to payroll with month ends, 3rd party payments, return submissions and tax reconciliations, balance payroll accounts
• English (fluency in reading, writing and speaking)
• Ability to interact at all levels
• SARS Annual submission experience mandatory
• BCEA and MIBCO Conditions of Employment experience is essential
