We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Paraplanner to join our dynamic wealth management team. The successful candidate will work closely with financial advisers and planners to provide comprehensive technical support, enabling the delivery of high-quality, personalised financial advice to our clients. This role is key to ensuring efficient workflow and maintaining the high standards expected by both clients and regulators.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning Support:
Conduct thorough research and analysis across all areas of financial planning (e.g., pensions, investments, tax, protection, estate planning).
Prepare accurate, compliant, and client-friendly Suitability Reports and recommendations based on adviser instructions.
Build and update cash flow models using relevant tools and software.
Prepare meeting plans, performance reports and meeting requirements for client annual reviews.
Arrange meeting dates/times and ongoing client assistance/engagement.
Client File Preparation:
Review fact finds, risk profiling, and existing plan details to inform planning strategies.
Liaise with product providers and platforms to obtain policy information, illustrations, and valuations.
Conduct analysis on products (pensions, ISAs, bonds) to support transfer recommendations where relevant.
Technical and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure recommendations meet FCA regulatory requirements.
Keep up to date with legislative changes in taxation, pensions, and investment regulation.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with compliance and internal audit standards.
Adviser and Client Interaction:
Collaborate with advisers to develop suitable strategies aligned with clients' goals.
Attend client meetings (occasionally) as a technical expert when required.
Provide explanations of recommendations and technical support to advisers.
Administrative Oversight:
Work with administrators to ensure that all pre- and post-advice documentation is complete and filed.
Assist with the implementation of investment and pension strategies where needed.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
At least 2 years' experience in an administrative or paraplanning role within wealth management.
Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, IHT planning, and protection products.
Excellent written communication skills for report writing.
High attention to detail and analytical mindset.
Desirable:
Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII or equivalent).
Experience using platforms such as Voyant, FE Analytics, or similar.
Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
