To lead the strategic direction of PPS' Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and cloud platform services, focusing on optimisation, governance, and performance without managing daily operations. The role is consultative and cross-functional, driving measurable improvements in cost efficiency, automation, resilience, and compliance across the technology estate. The role drives PPS to achieve operational excellence through strong governance, financial efficiency, and platform reliability, with success tied to validated cost savings and service quality outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (e.g., BCom, BTech, BSc)
Master of Business Administration (MBA) (preferred)
Professional certifications or credible industry experience required in relevant areas, including:
o Cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform)
o Security standards (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM))
o IT governance frameworks (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT)) Additional certifications in enterprise architecture, automation tooling, or infrastructure-as-code (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in Information Technology (IT) operations
At least 5 years in Infrastructure or Platform Governance roles
At least 10 years' experience in Financial Services or managed service/infrastructure provider environments
Demonstrated leadership in cost optimisation, disaster recovery governance, operational compliance, and cross-team influence
Knowledge and Skills:
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITL) Service Management Experience
Experience in Information Technology Infrastructure Platforms
Proven knowledge of general business principles and practices, including financial and people management

Provide detailed budget requirements and the management thereof
Understanding how the entire Information Technology (IT) budget is constructed and provide input into the management and use of this budget
Ensuring that incident and problem resolution budgetary allocations are met and where overspend takes places executes a root cause analysis process
Develop and implement cloud consumption and software license optimisation strategies
Conduct structured audits and spend analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities
Drive commercial optimisation of software and cloud contracts
Promote task automation and modernisation to scale operations and improve efficiency
Govern disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
Validate recovery strategies against business-defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) standards
Drive regular testing of disaster recovery plans
Oversee incident response processes and coordinate major incident response rooms
Maintain accurate, auditable documentation for infrastructure and platform configurations
Maintain documentation accessibility and compliance for audits and change governance
Monitor infrastructure performance to ensure high availability and redundancy
Enforce security and operational best practices, including patching and configuration baselines
Drive vulnerability remediation to maintain infrastructure integrity
Manage financial accountability for cloud, licensing, and infrastructure spend
Perform budget variance analysis and reporting to support strategic reinvestment
Link performance incentives to verified, measurable annual cost savings
Lead strategic vendor management and ensure alignment with service commitments
Provide flexible support during operational events outside standard business hours
Align processes with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) frameworks to support continuous improvement
