Job Summary The role is required to engage with the business unit stakeholders and provide risk and compliance expertise in guiding and enabling them to execute their risk management processes in a manner consistent with the Absa Enterprise Risk Management Framework and related policies and standards. The role is part of 1LOD and works closely with the Risk and Governance teams within the Product Solutions Cluster Business Units. The role reports into PSC Executive: Governance Risk and Compliance.



Accountability: Control Environment and Regulatory Compliance

Support business 1LOD teams with control environment and regulatory compliance initiatives by:

  • Reviewing the overall business risk appetite and risk strategy and providing necessary guidance and recommendations to the business units
  • Ensuring control approach that is fully aligned to business priorities both structurally & functionally.
  • Assisting the business to pro-actively manage issues and emerging risks.
  • Managing service excellence through well-defined scalable and easily replicated risk management processes.
  • Assisting with policy implementation and embedment of regulatory requirements
  • Accountability for the oversight and the engagement with multiple functional areas across all lines of defense within PSC and Absa Group-wide
  • Aligning the PSC risk profile through continuous interaction with internal and external stakeholders xe2x80x93 providing a balance between operational efficiency and the accepted level of risk appetite.
  • Institutionalizes a culture of continuous improvement in risk management through risk awareness, Learning and Development and Communications.
  • Prepare the business for assurance reviews and deep dives and play an active role in the discussion of issues to be reported from assurance reviews, ensuring that issues are valid and factually accurate, and actions are well defined, timed appropriately.
Cluster Level Governance and Reporting
  • Responsible for Product Solutions Cluster level management reporting (internal and external)
  • Represent PSC business Group forums and meetings.
  • Standardise and enhance first line metrics, monitoring and reporting processes.
Cluster Level Integration:
  • Act as the business ownership of PSC/AFS level business Risk and Compliance Standards
  • Own, coordinate and oversee central business continuity management activities across the Cluster
  • Management and oversight of AFS Group Outsourcing Agreements

  • Manage and develop the business continuity resources in line with Group policies and practices.

Education and Experience (Required)
  • B Degree in Commerce, Risk Management or other risk focused subject matter.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Risk Management (advantageous)
  • Relevant Subject matter certifications and/ or professional body membership advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 yrs. in Risk, Audit or Compliance experience.
  • Retail Banking and Insurance experience essential.
  • Experience with Risk Framework elements especially Operational Risk management.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple senior stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
