For this role we are seeking an Accountant with a Bsc Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (accreditation as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) or equivalent is preferred) and SAP certification is advantageous, for an EE position with a large corporate in Cape Town. Job Role

  • The Finance Systems and Processes (FSP) function is the business owner of the SAP S/4 Hana Finance solution and other related finance solutions. The FSP function consists of a team of business analysts who ensure that the design and operation of the finance solutions meets the Groupxe2x80x99s businessesxe2x80x99 needs. This team focuses on ensuring SAP standard processes match
business requirements, enabling potential change in business processes.
  • The Senior Manager: Finance Systems and Processes is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of this function. As the primary liaison between the business analysts and functional support team on the one hand, and business and other operational stakeholders on the other.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the translation, validation, communication, and management of and business operational requirements through process/business analysis.
  • Provide input to functional design of the SAP S/4 Hana Finance solution and other related finance solutions.
  • Advise on the impact that developments in business, industry, and reporting and accounting standards may have on the finance solutions.
  • Collaborate with business finance teams to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, which includes investigation into new SAP S/4 Hana Finance capabilities, alignment of existing capabilities with business processes, and onboarding new businesses onto SAP S/4 Hana Finance.
  • Collaborate with the SAP functional support team and other support teams to agree delivery priorities and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. This includes Incident Management on deployed capabilities, investigation into new SAP S/4 Hana Finance capabilities and onboarding new businesses onto SAP S/4 Hana Finance.
  • Take overall accountability for the incident and change request reporting and management processes relating to the finance solutions. This includes prioritisation of incidents and requests, driving items through escalation paths and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Analyze, document and advise business finance teams on accounting principles applied within the SAP S/4 Hana Finance solution, and propose potential changes to align business requirements, regulatory and accounting standards, and the systemxe2x80x99s accounting principles with each other.
  • Provide key insights into the strategic development of finance solutions within theGroup.
  • Understand and utilise industry leading practices and standards in driving change and optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain project and delivery plans, including resource and budget allocation.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and presentations.
  • Coordinate and lead workshops, training sessions and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Team Management:
    • Oversee and support the team of business analysts.
    • Guide and coach team members on improvement and innovation opportunities.
    • Review team output and performance, and implement corrective measures and development plans.
Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Accreditation as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • SAP Certification is an added advantage.
Experience
  • Sound Financial Services Industry knowledge, preferably within the Insurance Industry.
  • Experience of managing a team of people within a large institution.
  • Finance project experience will be advantageous.
  • Exposure to SAP solutions will be advantageous.

Skills/ Knowledge
  • Organisational and prioritising skills in an environment of competing and changing requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate in standard applications such as MS Office .
  • Problem solving & analytical thinking.
  • Technology orientated and ability to quickly learn to use new applications.
