Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing Services SSA, the role will be responsible for leading the selected Client Marketing programs for Visa in South Africa.

  • This is a pivotal role ensuring effectiveness of marketing strategy through Client partnerships spanning traditional & nontraditional players, issuers, merchants, fintechs with the goal of achieving Visaxe2x80x99s business and brand objectives in this critical geographical cluster.
  • The role purpose is to strategize and partner with the Clients and Account teams to identify opportunities to drive Account Plans that lead to successful commercial outcomes for clients. This will be done through leveraging Visa marketing & communications brand, assets, and capabilities, to develop co-marketing programs which deliver measurable and mutually beneficial business outcomes. This role will focus primarily on Strategic South Africa clients and some Pan Africa clients.
Strategic planning for the development of annual as well as multi-year plans for select clients in South Africa
  • Confidently lead and facilitate marketing related conversations with clients to surface potential opportunities, scope projects, and pitch proposals
  • Strategize and partner with clients to develop, lead and execute multiyear end-to end lifecycle marketing xe2x80x93 identify, scope, business case development, price, pitch, proposal, delivery and implementation (including delivery through 3rd party agencies creative and media agencies) and use of Visaxe2x80x99s marketing assets and capabilities to drive positive business outcomes for the client/s and Visa.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their business.
  • Apply solid business and industry knowledge and latest marketing/consumer trends to carry out business objectives to achieve outcomes.
  • Coordinate and manage the Client Marketing budgets to ensure alignment to forecasts.
  • Contribute to the identification of new market opportunities that will increase services to clients, merchants and cardholders and increase the value of the Visa brand.
  • Adapt and develop global and regional Marketing initiatives to address local market opportunities or needs, ensure relevance and effectiveness within South Africa.
  • Support the activation of global sponsorship and product platform initiatives across South Africa
  • Working with the measurement team, deliver return on investment for all marketing spends.
Establish, develop, and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across the spectrum of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead/build/engage relationship with key internal stakeholders for client marketing initiatives.
  • Influence and gain the support of client banks to participate in Visa marketing activities, negotiating the financial terms of their participation.
  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders including Account Executives, Business Development, Visa Consulting & Analytics and Product and regional colleagues.
  • Manage the budget plan processes for Client Marketing, liaising with Finance partners to ascertain spend against forecasts. Provide timely updates and status on marketing budget position on monthly basis.
  • Share best practice and successful programs within the Visa Marketing community.
  • Meet client NPS targets and other KPIs.

  • Demonstrated track record in the management of external clients, agencies, and the development of through the line campaign materials.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in business or a related field with a marketing foundation related to planning and executing 360 degrees marketing strategies and campaigns. (8-10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience)
