The Department of Accounting invite suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join their team.
Exciting teaching opportunities currently exist for an established subject specialist in Financial Accounting.
Main Objectives
All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research) and community engagement, and recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management,
and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels.
In addition, a Professor and an Associate Professor are to provide academic leadership in the following areas:
teaching and learning; research and community engagement; and contribute towards the institution's
governance. This professor's leadership contribution should be evidenced at the departmental, faculty, and institutional levels.
The Requirements
CA(SA) in good standing at the date of the application, with an intent to pursue a relevant Master's degree, and relevant experience in the following:
Demonstrated practical professional experience in the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) (excluding IFRS for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Municipal Finance Management Act (MFA)); or Considerable teaching experience in financial accounting at the third-year level is required for a SAICA CA-endorsed programme
Growing profile in the discipline
Track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles
A relevant Master's Degree would be an advantage.

Remuneration per annum (Grade SL):
Rhodes offers a market related remuneration.
