Senior Interior Designer
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Design Director/CEO
Role Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Interior Designer with 8+ years hands-on experience in leading diverse commercial, retail, and/or residential design projects. Candidates must have verifiable project leadership experience and a proven technical skill set.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design projects from concept to completion, including client presentations and detailed documentation.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and engineering professionals for project execution.
Mentor junior designers and contribute to technical upskilling of the team.
Ensure all projects meet timelines, budgets, and technical standards (including fire, eco, and electrical services).
Use Revit as primary design software; must be proficient.
Provide references and testimonials from previous team members and clients.
Present strong portfolio demonstrating both creative and technical (infrastructure/building) expertise.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Interior Design or related field.
Minimum 8 years experience in interior design (5-10+ years considered if experience is especially strong; must demonstrate leadership).
Advanced proficiency in Revit (required), as well as CAD, SketchUp, Adobe, Canva.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams and deliver projects to spec.
Experience with commercial/retail projects preferred.
Excellent technical and project management skills.
Salary: CIS role, approx. R35,000 per month after tax (DOE)
