Job Description


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Masters degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • Must me able to fully communicate in both AFRIKAANS and English due to client engagement.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in HR management, with a focus on international HR practices.
  • Strong knowledge of labour legislations and policies in South Africa and European countries.
  • Proven experience in managing HR functions within a retail environment is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse cultural environments and build effective working relationships.
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
International Experience:
Leverage extensive experience working within European countries to adapt global HR practices to local contexts.
Stay abreast of changes in labour laws, regulations, and HR practices in European countries as well as in South Africa and implement necessary adjustments.
Global Workforce Management:
  • Oversee the effective management of the workforce across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Facilitate cross-cultural understanding and collaboration within the organisation.
Employee Relations:
  • Act as a key point of contact for resolving complex employee relations issues and disputes.
  • Implement effective grievance resolution processes and promote a positive employee experience.
Compliance and Policy Development:
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislations and regulations in South Africa and European countries.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to meet legal requirements and industry standards.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
  • Collaborate with recruitment teams to attract top talent globally.
  • Implement talent management strategies to identify and nurture high-potential employees.
Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Implement a robust performance management system to drive continuous improvement.
Change Management:
  • Lead and support organisational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and employee engagement.
  • Act as a change agent, driving a positive and adaptive organisational culture.
International Travel:
  • Be prepared to travel outside of South Africa up to 80% of the time to European countries for meetings, training, and project management.
